Bus Accident Claim
If you are injured in a road accident as a car, bus, coach or taxi passenger, then you are entitled to
claim compensation for your injuries. The driver of the vehicle you are travelling in and/or other
road users are at fault.
Personal Injury Compensation as a passenger is relatively straight forward, as it can generally be proved that you are a helpless victim, who had no control over the vehicle.
Even if the driver your vehicle is at fault, you, as a passenger, are still entitled to claim compensation. If the driver happens to be related (father, brother, mother, etc ) you can still claim against thier car insurance policy.
The amount of compensation you receive depends on the severity of your injuries and whether they are short term or long term in thier nature. For example, if you weren’t wearing a seatbelt the amount of redress you receive will be reduced.
Passengers, should write down their version of events as soon as possible if they intend to
claim compensation. A medical report is needed detailing your injuries, this can be provided by your doctor to you solicitor. An independant doctor may also need to carry out a medical examination to check the extent of your injuries, this is common practise.
